The standard Ford Expedition SUV is powered by a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The available High Output version of this engine renders 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque; it can be added to the Platinum trim as an option and comes standard on the all-new Tremor model.
The standard towing capacity is 6,000 pounds.1 When equipped with the optional Heavy-Duty Trailer Towing Package, the Ford Expedition can tow up to 9,600 pounds.1 When towing, we recommend that you drive safely and adjust your driving to obey speed, braking, and steering requirements. Keep in mind that using lower gears for engine braking works best when driving downhill. Also, when you're reversing, turning your steering wheel to the left makes your trailer move to the right and vice versa.
The new Ford Expedition also offers Trailer Sway Control, an integrated Trailer Brake Controller with the optional Heavy-Duty Trailer Towing Package, and available Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which allows you to steer your trailer while in reverse with the turn of a knob.
